Cargo shipping from China to Germany

Germany is served as a separate destination with its own corridors and its own import rules: rail west through Kazakhstan and Poland to Duisburg, Hamburg and other terminals, or sea through the Baltic ports. The EU import is made by an importer of record with an EORI number — that role stays on your side.

How we plan China—Germany cargo

Rail is the lead corridor

China—Europe rail runs west through Kazakhstan and Poland to German terminals such as Duisburg and Hamburg. Our published Q3 2026 review of the corridor records a scheduled Chengdu—Duisburg transit of about 12.8 days, with the middle corridor via Kazakhstan carrying the majority of the traffic.

Sea for heavy and non-urgent freight

Oversized, dense and time-tolerant shipments usually move by sea through Baltic ports, with the final leg decided per shipment. Rail is chosen first when the delivery window matters more than the rate.

Two customs territories

Cargo clears the EAEU border first and then enters the EU. The EU import is made by an importer of record holding an EORI number and an EU VAT number — that role stays on your side of the deal, we do not act as your EU importer.

Corridors we can route through

Middle corridor via Kazakhstan

The established route through the Alashankou—Dostyk and Horgos crossings. Published market data puts it at roughly 62% of China—EU rail traffic.

Trans-Caspian

Via Aktau and Baku — the fastest-growing alternative, supported by port handling investment. Used when the Kazakhstan routing is congested or does not fit the delivery window.

Corridor choice is not a default. It is fixed per shipment against the ready date, the delivery window, the commodity and the customs documents the consignee can provide.

Cargo formats we handle

Full container

FCL by rail or by sea, with the loading plan, the rail or vessel booking and the terminal leg arranged for the actual shipment.

Machinery, heavy and oversized

Dimensions, centre of gravity, lifting points, packing photos and site access are collected before any platform or specialised vehicle is offered.

Sourcing, purchasing and supplier payment

We can inspect goods in China, pay your suppliers and prepare the export documentation before the cargo leaves the factory.

German import requirements

  • The consignee needs an EORI number and a valid EU VAT registration.
  • Import VAT and duty are assessed in the EU, by the importer of record.
  • Commercial invoice, packing list and HS codes must match the physical cargo.
  • Product-specific rules (CE marking, certificates, packaging rules) are checked before booking, not after arrival.

Commercial limits

No LTL or consolidated cargo — we work with full trucks, complete containers, machinery, project and oversized freight. We do not publish fixed prices or fixed transit times for China—Germany, and we do not take the role of the EU importer, VAT payer or customs declarant.

Frequently asked questions

Do you publish China—Germany rates?

No. Corridor, equipment and season change the price, so every China—Germany quote is individual and confirmed in writing for the specific shipment.

Can you act as our EU importer?

No. Import of record in the EU requires a European entity with an EORI number and EU VAT registration. That role stays with your consignee or your EU company.

Is rail or sea the better choice?

Rail is normally chosen when the delivery window matters; sea is normally chosen for heavy, dense or oversized cargo and when time allows. The decision is made per shipment, not by default.

Do you carry LTL or consolidated cargo to Germany?

No. Our China—Germany service covers full containers, full trucks, machinery, project and oversized cargo.

What happens if the German documents are incomplete?

Insufficient importer details, a mismatched invoice or a missing certificate move the arrival and the cost. We list the gaps before loading rather than after arrival.
